What is primary data?
Primary data is data collected by the person using it.
What are 2 disadvantages and advantages of primary data?
Disadvantages - Takes a long time
- It could be incorrect
Advantages -You know where the data is from
-You know what you want
What is secondary data?
Data collected by someone else(not the person using it) e.g. On a sheet
What are 2 disadvantages and advantages of secondary data?
Disadvantages-May not be reliable
- You don’t know how it was collected
Advantages-quick to access and collect
- No need to collect, already ready to analyse
What is qualitative data?
None numbered data e.g. colours, gender, opinions
What is quantitative data?
Numbered data, able to count or measure
There are two types of quantitative data, what are they?
Discrete data and continuous data
What is discrete data?
Whole numbers only e.g. DVD’s sold
What it continuous data?
Fractions or decimals e.g. Height, weight, time
