Different Heart Rates &Conditions Flashcards
Hypokalemia
Low blood potassium levels. Potassium levels lowers than 3 mEq/L.
Symptoms: heart palpitations, muscle twitching, cramping, hypotension, arrhythmias, fainting, UWAVES
Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib)
Heart rate: 350-600 bpm
P waves: absent
PR interval & T-wave indiscernible:
(Only thing normal about this is the QRS complex)
Atrial Flutter
Rhythm: regular
P wave: saw tooth, none
PR interval: NA
QRS complex: usually within normal limits
Rate: 75-100bpm
Ventricular Tachycardia
Rhythm:usually normal
Ventricular rate: 100-250bpm
QRS complex: bizarre appearance, increased aptitude
T wave: opposite of QRS complex
P wave/PR interval: NA
(Deadly-defibrillate)
Ventricular Fibrillation
Rhythm:no pattern
EKG is unmeasurable
Rate:?
P wave: NA
PR interval: NA
QRS interval: NA
(Most deadly rhythm, defibrillate)
Supra ventricular Tachycardia
Rate: 150-250bpm
Rhythm: regular
P wave: combine with T wave
PR interval- unmeasurable
QRS-normal
(Very deadly)
Normal Sinus Rhythm
60-100 bpm
Rhythm: regular
Everything within normal limits
Sinus Bradycardia
Less than 60 bpm
Everything else is within normal limits.
Sinus Tachycardia
Greater than 100 (100-160) bpm
Everything else is within normal limits.
Monomorphic Ventricular Tachycardia
Heart Rate: over 100 bpm
Atrial heart rhythm:NA (no Pwaves)
Ventricular heart rhythm: regular (QRS complex present)
(Lethal)
Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia/Torsade’s de Pointes-
Heart Rate: over 100 bpm
Atrial heart rhythm: NA (no Pwaves)
Ventricular heart rate: NA (unreadable QRS complex)
PR interval: N/A
(Lethal)
Asystole
Rhythm: none present
P wave: NA
Absent pulse/hr/bp/heart sounds
