Describe the background to the start of fascism in Italy. (4)

A

Itay had been on the winning side of the Great War, but 600 000 Italian soldiers had died. Italians were hoping for land, but didn’t get much.
Ex-army people were stealing and murdering, because there was unemployment and resentment.
People that weren’t suffering were scared of communism.

Explain how Italy became a fascist country.

A

Mussolini came to change Italy, he wanted to bring back Italy’s glory by addressing the issue of unemployment he ordered roads and buildings to be fixed which gave most people jobs and if you didn’t have a job you could sign up to the army which became very popular.
He marched on Rome with his supporters the black shirts and made such an impression the king gave in and made Mussolini the new prime minister. Anyone who was communist or an opposition was beaten or murdered. Italy became a fascist country due to Mussolini becoming a dictator and controlling the population.

Describe Adolf Hitler’s early life. (4)

A

He had a good relationship with his mother and his dad was a hard drinking bully

He wanted to become an artist, although he ended up being rejected by an art school he applied for.

In Vienna, after being rejected by art school, for 5 years he made money in any way he could for examples selling post cards and painting houses, he grew to hate foreigner and rich jewish people because he believed they were ruining Austria by introducing their way of life.

hitler at first tried to hide from the army by going to Vienna but inseat volenterd and won in total 6 medals for bravery in the great war . he was in hospital when he heard germany lost the war and blamed weak politicians and jews

How did Hitler go from being a politician to prisoner?

A

. he stayed in the army after war and spyed on new political groups he was known as a v-man
. one if them was called a german workers party- he liked many of there ideas and decided to join it
. he wrote in papers speaking out about the groups ideas and beliefs and that jews were germs he also spoke about germany needing a strong leader who could take revenge for the defeat of germany in WW1
.he changed the name to the nazi party and made the swastika the symbol

.his views mad him popular and soon he wanted too take over germany
. he tired to start a revolution in munich but failed
.put in prison for treason
. in prison he wrote a book called mein kampf (my struggle)
. many liked his idea of making germany great again

A

.on release from prison he went back to running the nazi party
. by 1929 the great depression started and millions lost there jobs and soon hitler moved from the 8th favorited party to the 1st
becuase of his promise to bring jobs in and his famous line “ ill provide you with work and bread”
. by 1933 he was the prime minister of germany

these kids were called the first soviet generation. this generation showed the virtues and vices of the society it hailed from.they were brought up to follow hitler and if there parents spoke against him in any way the kids were encoraged to inform the secret police
