CYP3A; metabolized to active metabolites (desmethyldiazepam, temazepam, 2ndly to oxazepam); Inhibit CYP450 enzymes: Increase conc. of Cimetidine, Fentanyl, CCBs. Requires: polythylene glycol to make water soluble

Clearance

- Hepatic metabolism;
- metabolites cleared by kidneys: 10X slower than Midazolam

- Anticonvulsant; #For any type of seizure.
- CAN produce isoelectric EEG

Minimal effect on ventilation. Surgical stimulation negates respiratory any depression

- Decrease 25-50% in elderly, liver dx, alcoholics, or w/ opioids
