what are the symptoms of crohn’s?
diarrhoea abdominal pain weightloss malaise anorexia fever right iliac fossa mass/pain B/12/iron deficiency clubbing exacerbations and remissions anal fistulae children - poor growth, delayed puberty, bone demineralisation, malnutrition

ct
colonoscopy
management for crohns
steroid - induce remission add aziothioprine (immunosuppressant) if not controlled infliximab for severe metronidazole for infection - diarrhoea possibly bowel resection
what is ulcerative colitis?
IBD only in the colon
what are the symptoms of UC?
diarrhoea (blood) abdominal discomfort bloating weight loss malaise fever iron deficiency increased WBCs, platelets and ESR hypoalbuminurea clubbing
investigations for UC
PR - blood
CT
Barium enema
management UC
mild - 5ASA
moderate to severe - steroid
Coeliac: clinical features
IgA deficiency diarrhoea bloating abdominal discomfort anaemia (iron def, but can be B12 def) chronic fatigue arthritis
