AEIOU:
Severe and unresponsive:
- Acidosis
- Electrolyte abnormalities
- Intoxication (i.e. medication OD)
- Oedema
- Uraemia symptoms such as seizures/reduced consciousness

A
AV fistula
When examining an AV fistula, check for:
- Skin integrity
- Aneurysms
- Palpable thrill
- Typical “machinery murmur” on auscultation
