Digital Subscriber Line
Twisted pair of copper used by telephone lines transmit faster data than voice to voice calls.

Digital subscriber line access multiplexers
Long running established data connections across the phone lines. Switches on and off
ADSL
Asymmetrical digital subscriber line
Different speeds for outbound and incoming data. Faster download slower upload. Home users
SDSL
Symmetrical digital subscriber line
Download and upload speeds are equal to each other
