- hypoglycemia

- photosensitivity
- disulfuram reaction (mostly occurs with Chlorpropamide 1st gen sulfonylureas)
Metformin is contraindicated in patients with what condition(s)?
Metformin is CONTRAINDICATED:
- renal insufficiency (SCr >1.4 female, >1.5male)
- active liver disease
- HF patients
- previous Hx of LA
- active alcoholic
- IV contrast media (stop before procedure, start 1-2 days after finished)
What are the 3 main AE associated with Metformin?
Adverse Effects:
- GI (30%)
- LA
- Vit B12 deficiency
