What does a DFA team consist of?
A
A parent breaker, a normally closed smart switch, a normally open smart switch, and an alternate breaker.

What is the 90% Rule for picking up load?
A
If the breaker is rated at 480A, then you can pick up 432A. If the breaker is rated at 600A, then you can pick up 540A.

What is a 2 team DFA team?
A
They are teams that share a normally open smart switch.

What 10 things will cause a DFA team to go into manual?
A
- Parent breaker ground relaying out.
- Parent breaker reclosing disabled.
- Parent breaker in local.
- Parent breaker open for 2 minutes.
- Normally closed switch communication fail.
- Normally closed switch in local.
- Normally closed switch open.
- Normally open switch communication fail.
- Normally open switch in local.
- Normally open switch closed.

What switches are telemetered?
A
KLS, KLC, PDS, PDC & reclosers

How do you set up clearances with Telemetered Switches?
A
- Notify $SEMDIST, if customer team only.
- Open telemetered switch via supy or locally. If the switch is part of a team, the team will drop to manual.
- Verify open, lock and tag in the field.
- Open/verify open bypass switch, lock and tag.
- Open jumpers if overhead or decouple device if underground.
- Place clearance and abnormal tags in both OMS and EMS.

What needs to be done to a Team Switch inside of a clearance?
A
- Notify $SEMDIST
- Place team in manual.
- Place information tags in both OMS and EMS.

When should Teams be returned back to auto?
A
- When switches return to normal state.
- When hold tags are cancelled.
- When reclosers are returned after being taken out for trouble shooters or crews.
- When clearances are cancelled, and the system is returned to normal.
- When switches with problems are repaired and returned to DOC for use.
- Any other circumstance causing telemetered switches to go to manual mode including setting up circuits, summer high ground amps, circuit outages, and after load shed, etc.
