2 month old red flags
inconsistent focus with limited to no evidence of tracking
movements are stereotypical
difficulty lifting/maintaining head up when prone
uncharacteristically strong with persistent / frequent back arching
prefers standing
fail to respond to faces/sounds/voices
3-4 month old red flags
asymmetries in posture, movement, and muscle tone
hyperextension of neck in supine
lack of movement variety
difficulty reaching up when supine
imbalance of flexion/extension skills
fists are maintained
lack of voice attention, lack of interaction
limited vocalizations
persistent crying / inconsolability
movement against gravity is difficult
6-8 month old red flags
consistently uses one hand
sits with rounded back / flops forward or backward when placed in sitting
difficulty feeding
9-12 month old red flags
back is rounded when sitting, W sit
bunny hopping / scooting instead of crawl or creep
poor transitional movements
no initiation or response to social interactions
does not use hands together, limited exploration (fearful or uninvolved)
lack of cooing / babbling
little to no affection
monotone utterances
eye sight/eye positional issues
12-18 month red flags
limited / no self feeding skills
not interactive
no use of sounds, words or gestures for needs to be met
almost always walks on toes
not walking independently by 16 months
no bilateral use of hands
18-24 months red flags
poor feeing still, difficulty weaning from bottle
no imaginative play or interactions
– inappropriate use of common objects
no language to respond
vocab <25 words
cannot shift weight to one leg for balance
lack of coordinated bilateral hand use
24-36 month red flags
speech is unintelligible
limited vocab / words are learned slowly
limited ability to interact/play
– poor turn-taking
difficulty following directions
unable to sit, not interested in books or stories
plays with few toys, limited exploration, lack of creative play schemas
