- Play with toys with hard, shiny surfaces
- Children w/ visual impairment rely on other senses to develop understanding of environment around them e.g. different textures - Use auditory cues eg wind chimes
- Provide full description of all objects
- Engage in play with auditory and touch experiences, using a mirror with lights for visual coordination
- Mirrors help with visuo-spatial development - Avoid sudden light changes - very sensitive to light
