A
- tropical climates make it hard for work in the middle of the day.
- having natural resources to start off with provide a steady source for the growth of economy.
- infertile, steep or flood common farm land
- being landlocked as a country
- frequency of natural hazards: governments spend money on rebuilding areas instead of furthering them.

A
- colonisation only benefits the colonial rulers as they can have cheap labour and raw materials. Like Malawi and Lesotho
- conflict and wars. E.g. Marshall Aid from the US after WWII

-High national debt- e.g. Malawi was spending 9.6% of his GNI on paying it’s debts
-no added value from raw materials before exporting them.
