psychosexual: achieving balance between unconscious urges

cognitive: always follow a set order (preoperational, concrete operational, formal operational)
Older adult: formal operational
describe Erikson’s theory of development
psychosocial, must pass stage before going on to the next
older adult: integrity vs. despair
Describe Kohlberg’s theory of development
Kohlberg: moral, preconventional, conventional and post conventional morality
Doesn’t have obligation to follow rules, follows rules, makes complex moral judgements not based on the rules alone
E.g. is stealing an expensive medication to save your wife’s life wrong?
