How can contrast be implemented?
Only have elements that are the same or very different; avoid having elements on the page that are only similar.
How can you improve contrast?
Through colour, boldness/thickness, font
What should you avoid when it comes to contrast?
not fully committing; elements shouldn’t be sort of similar or dissimilar.
How can repetiton be implemented?
repeat visual elements throughout a page to develop organization and strengthen unity.
How can repetition be improved?
Through consistency.
What should you avoid when it comes to repetition?
repeating an element so much that it becomes overwhelming.
How can alignment be implemented?
every element on the page should have a visual connection with another element; no element should be placed arbitrarily.
How can alignment be improved?
by always finding something on the page to align with even if they’re far apart
What should be avoided when it comes to alignment?
using more than one text alignment on a page.
How can proximity be implemented?
Items related to each other should be grouped closer together. When several items are physically close to each other, they become a visual unit that will organize information, reduce clutter, and provide structure for the viewer.
How can proximity be improved?
Through the use of headers, lists, and tables.
What should be avoided when it comes to proximity?
Having too many separate elements on a page (white space)
