David Hume argued that the watch analogy is weak, because you cannot make comparisons between the world and machines as they are completely different.
The watch has obvious elements of design whereas we do not know everything about the universe to make a full decision on it.
Some elements of the universe have an obvious purpose where as it is hard to tell if the universe as a whole does well.
HOWEVER the world does seem to suggest elements of design.
