Descriptives Flashcards
what are the three types of data that are in the MoCT?
mean median mode
define normal distribution
all the measures of central tendency are located at the peak
define skewed distribution
all the measures of central tendency are not at the peak
what are the two types of data that are in the measure of dispersion?
the range and the standard deviation
define standard deviation
it is a measure of dispersion that is used to show how much variation there is from the mean
what does a low SD mean?
the data points tend to be close to the mean
what does a high SD mean?
the data points tend to be far from the mean
what are the 5 steps to working out the standard deviation?
- workout the mean of each data group,
- minus the mean from each data point,
- square these numbers,
4.total it and divide by original mean value,
5.square root it.
what is the code of ethics?
