Animal exposure
Chronic topical application of glucocorticoids
Dermatophyte infection of body surfaces.
Prevalent in warm or moist climates

Transmitted directly from infected humans or animals via fomites or via autoinoculation
TINEA CORPORIS
Dermatophytosis of the groin, genitalia, pubic area, perineal and perianal skin
TINEA CRURIS
Most common dermatophytoses
TINEA PEDIS AND MANUM
Acquired by direct contact with an infected human or animal, the soil and
autoinoculation
TINEA MANUM
Occurs after topical application of a glucocorticoid to a site colonized or infected with a dermatophyte
TINEA INCOGNITO
Treatments for dermatophytosis
Oral and topical antifungal
