Hearing and balance from ear
Tests: can they hear a ticking watch, hearing tests, balance and coordination tests

Glossopharyngeal (both)
Sensory: touch and pain to posterior tounge and pharynx, taste on posterior tounge
Motor: select muscles of pharynx, autonomic parotid gland
Test: gag reflex, ability to swallow
CN X
Vagus (both)
Touch and pain to pharynx, larynx, bronchi. Taste to tounge and epiglottis
Muscles of palate, pharynx, and larynx, autonomic thoracic and abdominal viscera
Test: gag reflex, ability to swallow, say “ahhh”

Accessory (motor)
SCM and trap
Test resisted shoulder shrug
CN XII
Hypoglossal (motor)
Muscles of tongue
Test tongue protrusion (if injured it deviates toward injured side)
