How big are these skin lesions?
Verrucae
- 1-10mm
- rarely larger
Which burn will heal in about 7 days without scarring? What kind of treatment do you give these patients?
First degree burn

Describe what plantar warts look like…
Early: small, shiny sharply marginated papule, progressing to a plaque with hyperkeratotic surface, studded with brown-black dots
What kind of burn is only in the epidermis?
First degree
A patient comes in with “red or brown dots” on his foot. It is a 1-10mm papule. You note the skin lesion to be hyperkeratotic with a clefted surface with vegetations. The patient reports he tried to “shave it off with a razor” but it bled substantially. What is this and what do you prescribe for it?
Verrucae
Treatments:
1. Salicylic acid with lactic acid colloid
2. Cryosurgery
3. Imiquimod cream 3x a week
4. CO2 laser
5. Hyperthermia for verruca plantaris* (45 degrees Celsius for 20 min; 2-3x a week)
A child comes into the office with a hx of a burn. On PE, you see the skin the red and can be painful at times. What type of burn is this?
