A patient comes in with “red or brown dots” on his foot. It is a 1-10mm papule. You note the skin lesion to be hyperkeratotic with a clefted surface with vegetations. The patient reports he tried to “shave it off with a razor” but it bled substantially. What is this and what do you prescribe for it?

A

Verrucae
Treatments:
1. Salicylic acid with lactic acid colloid
2. Cryosurgery
3. Imiquimod cream 3x a week
4. CO2 laser
5. Hyperthermia for verruca plantaris* (45 degrees Celsius for 20 min; 2-3x a week)
