A

THis position is very attractive to me as it provides me with an excellent platform to establish ambitious research programs, to collaborate with researchers across diff disciplines and to allow me to develop into a research leader.

Also, it allows me to take up more responsibilities on the two things I enjoy the most: research and teaching

Furthermore, I feel that XXX is a perfect fit for me as the university values of being impact oriented, cross displacement and close collaboration with industry, resonates well with my own experiences and values

And that is why I am very keen to take advantage of the unique opps that this position offers and establish an exciting and impactful research group here.

Q

What are your weaknesses?

What is one area in which you would like to improve?

Do you have any experience in curriculum development?

A

I would say my greatest weakness would be that I have not had any formal experience developing new syllabus

However, I have been proactive in finding opp. to improve on this

For e.g. although this is not required in my role as a dept. tutor, I have been developing new teaching material that are covered in the lectures but are complementary in conveying the key concepts of the topic to the students.

However, I’ll definitely look forward to improving on this aspect of my teaching in the future

Q

What is your leadership or management style?

A

I don’t have one specific management style as I try to adjust my style to each situation, identify the best way to complete the project efficiently and adopt a style that works best with the dynamics of the team members

Nevertheless, I do like to lead by effective delegation and communication, which
helps build a culture of trust and cooperation

I always try to find the strengths of my team members and delegate tasks to whoever is best-equipped to perform well in the task.

I try to communicate clearly about what needs to be done, and why. This eliminates back-and-forth, mistakes
