Departure And Arival (KS) Flashcards
What does this mean?
Take off minimums are not standard or specific departure procedures for the airport
ODP minimum
200 feet per nm (300 ft per minute)
What do ODP provide?
Obstacle clearance
Should be flown even if ATC does not assign
Least restrictive route
What do SIDS provide ?
Obstacle clearance
Reduces workload for pilots and ATC
Reduces radio frequency congestion
What is required to fly a SID
ATC clearance
To accept a SID what should the requirements be ?
Meet climb rate requirements
Have the charted procedure
What do the dark arrows represent ?
Basic SID
What do the highlited arrows represent
Transition routes
What do the stars mean on this departure procedure frequencies ?
Service is not continuance (shut down over night
When working with a tower never make the switch automatically instead
Wait for tower to hand you off
What is a climb gradient ?
Measure of how much altitude gain per mile travel forward
If no climb radiant is specified ?
Use regular climb gradient (200ft per nm)
Rate of climb formula ?
ROC = (GS divided by 60) x climb Gradiant
When can you find a climb/ descent table ?
TPP
Diverse departure procedure
Maintain RWY HDG
cross departure end of runway 35ft
200fr per nm
First turn no lower than 400ft
VCOA
visual Climb Over Airport
How do you do a VCOA ?
Do a visual climbing turns over the airport to a specific “climb to” altitude in VMC
What does “descend via star” do?
-comply with lateral flight plan
-comply with charted speed restriction
-comply with published altitude restrictions
-descend to bottom altitude
