A
  • Are try in bases stable on casts?
  • Are borders smooth and rounded with no sharp edges
  • Is border extension shaped to depth and width of functional sulcus
  • Check occlusion on articulator (is there anterior open bite we don’t want)
  • Are centre lines coincident and pin on table
  • Check overbite and overjet
  • Even contacts on molars
  • Position of teeth on ridge

  • Prescribe technician to cut post dam

A
  • Listen to f and v sounds to assess contact between incisors and lower lip
  • Not too much whistling on s sounds otherwise OVD to be increased
  • Teeth slightly apart during speech
  • If teeth make contact during speech = insufficient FWS

A

Buccal Upper (palatal surface of buccal cusp) and Lingual Lower (buccal surface of lingual cusp)
- Adjust contacting surfaces rather than tips of cusps

A
  • Check fit, polished and occlusal surface for blebs, sharp edges, acrylic flash and quality of polish
  • Ensure no porosity or inclusions in acrylic
  • Look for large undercut areas that may prevent seating or cause pain
  • Happy with border extension?
