A
most commonly alkaline peroxides
- oxidising agents like alkaline perborate, sodium perborate or potassium monopersulfate–> remove staining, kills bacteria on denture surface
- reducing agent like sodium hypochlorite
-effervescing agents: perboratae, carbonate or citric acid, allow rapid disintegration of product, create mechanical cleansing action
-chelating agents like EDTA which helps remove tartar accumulated on denture surface
- detergents like sodium polyphosphate
- disinfectant like gluteraldehyde, potassium permanganate
