indications for tooth extraction

A

PD disease: probing depth >6mm, furcation stage 3, >50%. alveolar boneloss (mobility not a reliable indicator)

endodontic disease (fractured or discoloured, invasive, morbidity, loss of tooth, alternative to root canal treatment)

tooth resorption type 1 (progressive, painful, difficult to extract)

malocclusion (traumatic, when other options not appropriate, invasive morbidity and loss of tooth)

persistent deciduous teeth (permanent counterpart is present, leaving will cause malocclusion, crowing, PDD)

other: gingivostomatitis, chronic stomatitis, complicated crown fractures, oronasal fistula, dentoalveolar trauma some cases, caries
