Delusions
A fixed false belief that no one can change
Delusion of control
Belief that another person or group of people control ones thoughts feelings impulses or behaviour
Nihilistic delusion
Delusions whose themes centers on the nonexistent of self or parts of self others or the world
May have false belief the world is ending
Delusional jealousy
Falsely believes that his or her spouse or lover is having an affair
Delusion of guilt or sin
False feeling of remorse of guilt of delusional intensity
A person may believe that they have commited some horrible crime and should be punishing severely
Delusion of mind being read
False belief that other people can know ones thoughts
Delusion of reference
False believes that insignificant remarks event or objects in ones environment have personal meaning or significance
May believe they are receiving special messages from eg tv
Erotomania
One believes that another person usually someone of higher status is in love with them
Grandiose delusion
An individual exaggerates his or her sense of self importance
May think they are the queen
Persecutory delusions
Most common type of delusions
Delusion of being followed harassed cheated poisoned or drugged spied on attacked or obstructed in the pursuit of goals
Religious delusion
Delusion with religious or spiritual content
Somatic delusion
Delusion where they think body is wrong eg body is diseased abnormal or changed
