Delta T Flashcards
How do you confirm the proper heat transfer at the indoor coil?
By measuring the Delta T
What is Delta T?
Delta T is the temp decrease of the air moving across the evaporator coil (indoor coil)
How do you measure Delta T?
This is measured in the return and supply ducts within a few feet of the evaporator coil
A single speed air conditioning system with a correct refrigerant charge, correct airflow, and a TXV should have a Delta T of what?
Roughly 18°-21°
What is the Delta T equation?
(T1) - (T2) = Delta T
How do you get the two measurements in the Delta T equation?
- ) First measurement is the higher temp reading taken a few feet up from the evaporator coil in the return duct (T1)
- ) The lower temperature reading taken a few feet down from the evaporator coil in the supply duct (T2)
If the airflow is to low then the Delta T would be?
The Delta T would be high
If the airflow is to high then the Delta t would be what?
The Delta T would be low
The Delta T should usually be attainable unless?
Unless there is very high humidity in the conditioned air within the building.
