Pragmatism
A focus on practical consequences in ethical decision-making, particularly in situation ethics
Propinquity
In utilitarianism, the proximity of pleasure, meaning how soon it will occur
Quality of life
The idea that life’s value depends on certain characteristics such as autonomy, happiness and wellbeing rather than its existence

Aquinas term for reason, which enables humans to understand moral principles
Real goods
Genuinely good actions as opposed to actions which seem good but are not in natural law
Relativism
The belief that morality is not absolute but varies according to culture, situation or personal beliefs

Someone who believes that moral truths depend on context rather than being universal

The belief that life life is sacred and has inherent value, often based on religious principles

A moral approach that considers the specific circumstances of an action rather than applying fixed rules

A purpose or end goal; in Aristotle amd natural law, the idea that everything has an ultimate aim or function

Ignorance that can be overcome using reason, ignorance that you are responsible
