Wellbeing
The degree of satisfaction that an individual or group experiences when needs are met
Illbeing
The degree of dissatisfaction when needs are not met
Needs
things that are vital to sustain our life, those things we require to survive and to be physically and mentally healthy
(EG: food, safety, love, acceptance)
Wants
preferences or desires, things we would like to have but do not really need to survive or maintain good health
(EG: cars, tv, lots of money)
Interchangability
the exchange of resources
(individuals must decide how best to use resources, people must work out how to best use their resources )
sustainability
the effective use of resources to ensure they are available for future use
values
qualities that an individual believes are important in life
past experiences
previous events that have happened in our lives
informal support systems
are not registered organisations and generally include families, friends etc.
formal support systems
consist of government agencies or community organisations such as childcare facilities, community centres..
