What is the Nasal Passages?
They’re the two sections of the nasal cavity that allow air to pass through the nose and into the body.
What is the PHarynx?
A passage way in the head and neck that is part of both the digestive system and the respiratory system
What is the Epiglottis?
A small, moveable “lid” just above the larynx that prevents food & drinks from etering the wind pipe.
What is the glottis?
The middle part of the larynx, also where the vocal cords are located.
What is the larynx?
A hollow tube in the middle of your neck, just above your trachea (wind pipe) and esophagus
What is the trachea?
Long U shaped Tube, that connects your larynx to your lungs, carrying air in and out of your lungs (aka ur windpipe)
What is the Bronchi?
The two large tubes that carry air from your windpipe to your lungs.
What is the Bronchioles
A tiny branch of air tubes in the lungs, they carry air to small sacs in your lungs called Alveoli
What are the Alveoli?
Tiny air sacs at the end of the bronchioles, and exchange oxygen & CO2 during the process of breathing in and out.
What are the lungs?
A part of organs in the chest that enable breathing by allowing oxygen to enter the body & removing carbon dixodie
What is the Pleural Membrane
A thin double layered tissue that lines the chest wall and covers the lungs, protecting and cushioning it.
What is the Diaphragm
A large dome shaped muscle that separates your chest cavity from your abdomen, which also is used for breathing and helps with functions to get rid of urine and feces
What is the esophagus
a muscular tube that moves food and liquids from the mouth to the stomach
