Someone has a fractured identity when they live and consume a variety of cultural products whilst embracing numerous lifestyles which all contain unique associations to different activities and behaviours.

A
McDonaldisation occurs when areas of communities become absorbed by the creation of standardised, reliable systems and consumption outlets. The presence of these is argued to erode the authenticity of local cultures and remove the uniqueness which is associated with different countries and societies around the world.
