Reactionary Gap
A 4-6ft distance between the officer and subject giving the officer a response time
Triangulation
The positioning between multiple officers providing a clear line for communications, contact and tactics
Fatal Funnel
A cone shaped path leading from the entry way to which the assaulter is most venerable to defenders
Line of Fire
The expected path of gun fire
Cover
An object that is bullet proof
Concealment
An object that conceals your body but is not bulletproof
Contact Officer
the person who makes verbal visual or physical contact with the subject
Cover Officer
The person who maintains overall cover of the situation
Survival Contingency Plan
Having a plan in place to retreat from a high threat situation
Probable Cause
the level of suspicion that would cause a reasonable and prudent person, given the overall circumstances to believe a crime has been committed
Reasonable Suspicion
the belief by a reasonable and prudent person based on the articulable facts that something has happened
Inspection
a systematic process used to ensure compliance with government regulations

protection over people’s property to prevent unreasonable searches
and seizures

protection from self-incrimination and double jeopardy
