Defining the Research field of Entrepreneurship Flashcards
What is an entrepreneur?
Is the individual responsible for the process of creating new value
Can the term entrepreneur be used when there is intent but no action?
The paper says no
What two aspects of the phenomenon need to be considered?
The individual and the project itself
What would happen if the project was impossible without the contribution of all team members or the removal of one?
In this instance the team would become the “entrepreneur”, as the outcome cannot be attributed to a single individual
What type of phenomenon is innovation?
A collective phenomenon
Entrepreneurial reproduction
Very little new value creation, usually no innovation, and very few changes for the individual. This would be the case, for example, in the creation of a classical small, standard restaurant by a chef with experience
Entrepreneurial imitation
no significant new value creation, entrepreneurs must make far-reaching changes in their know-how, relations networks, and so on. It requires the entrepreneur to learn a new trade.
Entrepreneurial valorization:
Only a handful of people who really know the technology in question, and he has a unique relations network, which then uses to go on and create a business.
Entrepreneurial venture
Rare, when successful they lead to radical changes in the environment, through the creation of significant new value.
