deep sensibility Flashcards
modalities of deep sensibility
vibration, discrimintory touch, pressure, proprioception
discriminatory touch
distance at which two stimuli are percieved separately and is necessary for stereognosis and graphaesthesia
stereognosis
ability to recognize three dimensional objects by touch
proprioception
position sense and kinesthesia
dorsal columns fasciculus gracilis
receptors detect discriminatory touch, pressure, vibration, and conscious proprioception from the LOWER extremities and ascend WITHOUT CROSSING to synapse with nucleus gracilis in medulla
where is nucleus gracilis located?
medulla
dorsal columns fascilicus cuneatus
receptors detect discriminatory touch, vibration, and propriocpetion (both conscious and unconscious) from THE UPPER EXTREMITIES and ascend WITHOUT CROSSING to synapse with NC.
dorsal spinocerebellar tract
detects proprioception both conscious and unconscious from lower extremities
ventral spinocerebellar tract
detects unconscious proprioception from lower extremities
medial lemniscus?
formed by NG, NC, and Z internal arcuate fibers that cross to form great sensory decussation to form this. ends in thalamus and from there fibers end up in sensory cortex
