A
A continuation of the superficial layer of the deep cervical fascia on the face
Over the parotid, it is called the investing fascia of the parotid
Over the masseter, it is called the masseteric fascia
Above the zygomatic arch, it is called the deep temporal fascia

How does facial nerve relate to the deep fascia ?
A
Covers the facial nerve branches, buccal fat pad, parotid duct, and facial artery and vein
Over the anterior edge of the masseter, the facial nerve branches begin to perforate the deep facial fascia to innervate the facial mimetic muscles (see later)
