What is checked baggage?
Baggage surrendered by the customer at their original boarding city that is carried to the passenger’s final destination. Checked baggage is returned to the customer only at the baggage claim area.
What does Comat/Comail stand for?
Company material/Company mail.
What is a Complaint Resolution Official (CRO)?
An employee who has been trained in the rules and regulations involving a person with disabilities and issues with exit row requirements.
What is configuration in aviation?
The arrangement of an aircraft’s seats and other cabin features.
What is a connection in air travel?
The process of taking two (2) or more flight segments to travel to a final destination.
Who is a crewmember?
Person(s) designated to perform specialized duties onboard an aircraft. (e.g. Pilot and Flight Attendant)
What is Crew Resource Management (CRM)?
The effective use of all resources including personnel, training procedures and equipment to achieve the highest possible level of safety.
What are Dangerous Goods (DG)?
Items deemed by the DOT as hazardous material when transported in commerce. Synonym for HAZMAT.
What is deadheading (DH)?
A crewmember being positioned for a trip or traveling to training.
What is decompression?
The aircraft’s inability to maintain a designated cabin pressure.
What does deplane mean?
The act of leaving an aircraft at the termination of a flight.
Who are dispatch employees?
Employees who are jointly responsible with the Captain for the safe operation of each flight.
