A

The naughty step is good and beneficial to correct inadequate behaviour
When a parent shouts at a child, the attention can be seen as positive reinforcement as it gives children their desired reaction

Q

Conditioning in vulnerable groups- SEE Para

A

S- Critical for how rewards cause learned helplessness
E- Dwek and Psych today
E- Learned helplessness leads to failing in life due to laziness, money spent on rewards e.g. school trips could be spent on education system improvements

17
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- for sociologists?

A

Lovitt and trevor osborne

18
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- for Lovit?

A

Operant conditioning can be used effectively in SEND providing the education with a useful tool to maintain and modify behaviour if disabled children who struggle with following tradition
Helps by designing goals and creating proceeds to reach goals which are attainable for students

19
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- for, Trevor osbourn?

A

Constantly reinforcing behaviour is as important as establishing rules and issuing consequence during operant conditioning is that student will learn through reinforcement and will modify behaviour based upon consistent feedback

20
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- for SEE Para?

A

S- many believe that we should condition due to its long lasting impact
E- Lovit and Trevor osbourn
E- a social implication is that people believe oys the right thing for them, it isn’t effective and therefore wastes money

21
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- against, sociologists?

A

Lepper et al
Michael Karson ph:p

22
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- Lepper et al?

A

Research suggests that the promise of rewards may de motivate children, meaning they will lack focus and not perform well, highlighting the negative impacts of extinctive values

23
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- Michael karson?

A

Did a study on lab rats and found that showing negative results of behaviour didn’t stop negative behaviour
When on humans the children stopped behaviour around parents but it got progressively worse when they weren’t around as they are more skillful at not getting caught

24
Q

Effectiveness of conditioning- SEE paragraph?

A

S- Many people believe that we shouldn’t condition due to its long lasting effects
E- Michael Karson and Lepper et al
E- If people don’t believe in therapy then they may cause judgment about it causing people not to go, loss on economy

25
Q

Conclusion?

A

Conditioning is the basis of learning in society, allowing children to function
But can be unethical to manipulate children
Overall, should condition children
