What is flight of ideas?
Words associated together because of meaning or rhyme, so that speech loses its aim and patients wanders from original theme
What is knights move thinking/Loosening of associations?
Links between thoughts are illogical or speech may wander between trains of thought
What is tangential thinking?
Wandering from the topic and never returning to it or providing the info requested
What is circumstantiality?
Inability to answer a question without giving excessive unnecessary detail, does eventually return to initial point
What are self referential experiences?
The belief that external events are related to oneself
Think TV transmitting messages for you, car numberplates code etc
What is significant about psychosis in depression?
It is a marker of severity
What is psychosis?
Psychosis is a mental health problem that causes people to perceive or interpret things differently from those around them
What is meant by mood congruent?
features that are consistent with patients mood
What is meant by mood incongruent?
Delusions or hallucinations that are inconsistent or contradict prevailing emotions
Features of schizoaffective disorder?
Presence of both symptoms typical of schizophrenia and affective disorder (Any specific episode may be schizo-manic or schizo-depressed
