Cat A - No standard interval. Time is specified in MEL. If in days excludes day of discovery. If in any other time period - starts at time of deferral.
Cat B - 3 days (excluding day of discovery)
Cat C - 10 days (excluding day of discovery)
Cat D - 120 days (excluding day of discovery)
Main Maintenance Base
A place where time, spares and personnel exist for rectification and repair.
Once an aircraft has dispatched from a main maintenance base then the restrictions to dispatch from a base no longer apply.
After dispatch from a Main Maintenance Base on the first flight of the day it becomes a Transit station for the rest of the day (GMT).
