What were the lessons learnt from goat aid?

A
  • Pay sufficient attention to availability of feed as it compromised the productivity of the earlier herds, especially during periodic droughts - however has improved
  • Pay attention to vaccination of animals - ensure households had access to basic animal health services or death of animals
  • Depending on the season, prices fluctuate widely - investment in improved breeds could make difference to revenue
  • Som resisted transferring 3 goat kids to next level of beneficiaries - lack of clear process
