Day 3 Flashcards
Where is the landing gear actuation panel located?
On panel P2
Which hydraulic system operates the main gear steering?
BLUE system (Centre)
What hydraulic systems are pressurized when towing?
- RH (Green) - Brakes
- CNTR (BLUE) - Alternate braking, Main gear steering
What is the rule of thumb to prevent inadvertent transfer of hydraulic fluid?
Pressurize right system first and depressurize right system last.
Where is the brake accumulator located?
RH Wheel Well
What can be done to allow the nose landing gear (NLG) to move beyond the normal steering limit?
Disconnect the torsion links
What does the NLG Door Close Switch do?
Only opens/closes NLG doors
Which panel operates the main landing gear (MLG) door open/close?
P56 - Wheel well electrical service panel
What does the red landing gear unsafe light indicate?
The door is open and it is not safe to go into the wheel well
What should you ensure before entering the wheel well?
The DOOR UNSAFE LIGHT in the wheel well of the NLG is OFF
What indicates the lock/unlock condition of the PCA in the main gear steering system?
A silver indicator in the lock indication window on the unlock LVDT
What can disable MLG steering?
A manual shut-off valve
When does the MLG gear steering status message on EICAS show?
- Failure in a MLG component
- Steering/locking PCA is disabled
What triggers the landing gear display to show all 3 gears?
- Disagreement between the landing gear lever & position for more than 40s
- Landing gear doors are open
Where is the brake valve located on Boeing aircraft?
On the return line
What does a red brake light indicate?
Brake light - ON
What powers the parking brake lights?
Captain’s instrument bus
Where are the parking brake valves located?
On RH MLG Door, next to Anti-Skid Accumulator
What ways can a brake be deactivated?
- Install a flight dispatch disconnect tool in the brake position on the anti-skid valve module
- Disconnect brake line
- Remove brake assembly
What does the Tyre pressure indication system consist of?
TBMU (Tyre and brake monitoring unit)
What does the Primary Flight Control System (PFCS) include?
- Ailerons
- Flaperons
- Spoilers
- Speedbrakes
- Elevators
- Horizontal stabilizer
- Rudder
What does the High Lift Control System (HLCS) control?
- Trailing edge flaps
- Leading edge slats
- Krueger flaps
What are the benefits of Fly-By-Wire?
- Efficient structure design, fuel burn
- Smaller vertical fin and horizontal stabilizer
- Decreased weight, better controls and protection
What must be done before closing Tail flight control SOVs?
Depressurize all hydraulic systems
What is the caution regarding the flap position sensor gearbox?
DO NOT turn the manual drive with MORE THAN 1200 inlb or faster than 400 RPM
What should be avoided when working on the windshield wiper system?
DO NOT operate on dry windshield
What is the warning regarding the inflatable lap belt assembly?
Never carry the whole assembly, detach the EMA from the belt before carrying
How many water tanks are located in the aft bulk cargo compartment?
3 Water Tanks
What does the Potable Water Aft System Drain Valve Handle operate?
Both the Aft System Drain Valve and Tank Drain Valve
