What is nominal data?
The groups are individual and do not over lap. Eg blue eyes, brown, green, black. The groups do not coincide
What is ordinal data?
There is a clear difference in groups, but the difference of the groups is subjective. For example: happy, less happy, sad, very sad. What might be happy for someone might be less happy for someone else
What is interval level data?
Data where we know both the clear groups in the data and the differences in the data. For example height: 6 foot, 6:5”, 5:3”, 6:2”
What is quantitative data?
Where data is recorded in numbers
What is qualitative data?
Where data is recorded in words
What is primary data?
Data recorded from the current psychologist through their own experiments
What is secondary data?
Data that may be gathered by a psychologist but recorded and found by another psychologist through their experiments
What is the mode?
The most common number in a set of results
What is range?
The difference from the highest number in the results to the lowest
What is the mean?
All of the numbers added together and divided by the number of results
