Data Management Flashcards
How do you manage data on a project?
I use sharepoint to ensure data is kept in kept in a single, live and secure location. This ensures collaboration on a project and ensure the whole team can have easy access to relevant files.
What are the principles of sharepoint?
Allows users to have diffferent levels of access
Ownership have full control of permissions
Members can contribute and view site
Visitors can only view information
Provided a single live source of data
What is BIM?
The process of designing a building collaboratively using one coherent system. BIM enables collaboration by providing live 3D models incorporating all consultants designs. This ensure coordination . Additional data including materials, costs, schedules and sustainability are also included.
What is level 2 BIM
At level 2 BIM collaboration between parties required. However there is still a lack of a single data source. All data collected on the built asset is shared. This enables a BIM model to be produced.
Is required on all public sector projects.
What are the benefits of BIM?
Collaboration
Clash detection
Instant sharing of data
Single source of data
Visualisation
Better planning and use of space
What is a BIM execution plan?
A comprehensive document that outlines how BIM will be implemented on a project. It serves as a guide to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and that BIM processes are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
What is the purpose of a BIM execution plan?
Alignment - ensures all participants have an understanding of the processes and expectations.
Efficiency- streamlined workflows and processes
Quality control - establishes standards and procedures to maintain quality and accuracy of the model
Communication- enhances communication by providing a shared reference point for all BIM activities
Risk reduction- ideifies potentials risks
Who delivers a BIM execution plan
Usually a project manager but is usually produced collaboratively with all stakeholders.
What is GDPR?
The general data protection regulation act. Is EU legislation involving 7 principles.
Lawfulness
Purpose limitations
Data minimisation
