Data Collection Flashcards
Define Data
Pieces of factual information that result from measuring specific aspects of the world.
What are Objective Reports?
The information provided is based on the observation of measurable facts.
What are Subjective Reports?
Providing information based on your personal opinions of judgements.
Define Treatment Integrity Data
Data used to objectively determine which components of treatment are being implemented correctly and which components are more difficult to implement
Define Interobserver Agreement
Data that is collected to determine the accuracy with which another person is collecting data.
What are Operational Definitions?
Definitions that specifically and objectively describe the target behavior and include examples and non-examples of the behavior.
Define Observer Drift
The data collector begins to score behaviors that do not meet the operational definition.
Define Reactivity
The individual whose behavior you are observing behaves differently once he is aware you are collecting data.
What is Continuous Data?
Capture the relevant dimension of the target behavior each and every time that the behavior happens.
What is Discontinuous Data?
Capture the occurrence and non-occurrence of the target behavior, or a subset of the target behavior at a specific time.
Continuous Measurements
Rate, Frequency, Duration, Latency, IRT, Trial By Trial
Discontinuous Measurements
Whole Interval Recording, Partial Interval Recording, Momentary Time Sampling
Define Whole Interval Recording
The number of short observation intervals during which the behavior occurred for the entire length of the interval.
Define Momentary Time Sampling
The number of short observation intervals during which the behavior was occurring at the end of the interval.
