Define Dangerous goods:
Items capable of posing risk to health, safety, property or the environment and listed in the TIs or classified according to the TIs.
Dangerous Goods accident:
A dg-related occurrence resulting in fatal or serious injury or major damage
Dangerous goods incident:
DG-related occurrence resulting in injury, damage, fire, breakage, spillage, leakage of fluid or radiation or where the integrity of the packaging has failed, or seriously jeopardises the aircraft or its occupants.
Exemption:
Authorisation issued by Authority providing relief from provisions of Annex 18 or the TIs as appropriate.
Incompatible
DG which, if mixed, may cause dangerous evolution of heat or gas or produce a corrosive substance.
Packaging:
Receptacles and other components or materials necessary for the receptacles to perform their containment function
UN number:
4-digit number assigned by the UN to identify a substance or a group of substances

Establish and maintain training programme and demonstrate that adequate training has been given to all personnel.
Establish operating procedures to ensure safe handling at all stages, including:
Operators Policy
Requirements for acceptance, handling, loading, stowage and segregation
Action in event of incident or accident when DG are carried
Response to emergency situations involving DG
Removal of contamination
Duties of personnel especially with relevance to ground handling
Inspection for damage, leakage or contamination
DG incident and accident reporting
DG information and documentation required:
Wittered information to commander about DG to be carried for use in emergency flight
Operators DG acceptance checklist
Consignment DG transport documents
Copies of consignment documents and NOTOC retained on the ground
Retain all documents for 3 months
Retain all DG training records for 3 years
If an in-flight emergency occurs:
The commander must inform ATS, as soon as the situation permits , giving the nature of any DG on board
