There are two types of adjectives in Japanese: i-adjectives and na-adjectives. However, the な in a なーadjective is dropped when the adjective comes directly before です。
Negative form of an i-adjective
The negative form of an i-adjective is -くない
ひろいです (Spacious)
ひろくない (Not spacious)
To make this form, you take off the いです and replace it with くないです
Negative form of a na-adjective
The negative form of a na-adjective is ーじゃありません
べんりです
べんりじゃありません
べんりじゃ無い
きれいです
きれいじゃありません
きれいじゃ無い
To make this form, replace です with じゃありません

An adjective can modify a noun by being placed before it. To do this, an いーadjective has the vowel “i” between itself and the noun, and a な-adjective “na”
