Disc (disk)

the inner or central florets borne on the flattened penduncle in a radiate flowerhead in contrast to the surrounding ray florets( Asteraceae).

the far or free end of the la bell um in an orchid. Attached end is proximal

spreading widely (almost at right-angles) in different directions from a common centre.
Dorsal
relating to the back. abaxial or under-surface of a leaf or flower.
Dorsifixed
anther on which the filament is attached at the back.
Dorsiventral
pertaining to an organ which has dorsal and ventral surfaces. e.g. a leaf
Drupe
an indehiscent stone fruit in which the pericarp is fleshy or leathery
Druplet
