What does IL-1 do?
FEVER, acute inflammation, activates endothelium to express adhesion molecules
What does IL-6 do?
FEVER
What does IL-8 do?
Chemotactic for neutrophils
What does IL-12 do?
Induces differentiation of T cells into Th1 cells, activates NK cells
What does TNF-a do?
Mediates septic shock, vascular leakage, leukocyte recruitment.
What does IL-2 do?
Stimulates growth of helper, cytotoxic, and regulatory T cells.
What does IL-3 do?
Supports the growth and differentiation of Bone marrow cells (like GM-CSF)
What does IFN-g do?
Activates macrophages and Th1 cells.
Suppresses Th2 cells
Has antiviral and antitumor properties
What does IL-4 do?
Enhances class switching to IgE
What does IL-5 do?
Enhances class switching to IgA
What does IL-10 do?
Modulates/inhibits inflammation
