Q

What does the blue arrow represent?

What does the loop represent?

A

Blue - the line is the End Systolic Pressure Volume Relationship (ESPVR).

Loop represents loss of inotropy NOT increased afterload because the ESPVR changed its slope and the whole loop moved

when the ESPVR changes it’s slope, it indicates a contractility issue. In this case it’s a LV failure.

Q

What does this loop represent?

A

Afterload. Notice the End Diastolic Pressure Vol Relationship (ESPVR) line did not change angle.

A change in ESPVR would indicate a change in contractility

Q

A change of the End-Systolic Volume point along an End-Systolic Pressure-Volume Relationship (ESPVR) line indicates a change of what?

A

Afterload

If the line changed it’s slope, it would indicate a contractility (inotropy) change.

17
Q

What does this represent?

A

Increased Preload

18
Q

What does this represent?

A

Decreased preoload
