What are the motor branches of the cervical plexus?
Ansa Cervacalis (loop of neck) phrenic nerve
What are the roots of the phrenic nerve?
C3, C4, C5
What does the phrenic nerve innervate?
Diaphragm
important in breathing
What is the course of the phrenic nerve?
anterior surface of anterior scalene muscles
before entering the mediastinum
What are the sensory branches of the cervical plexus?
lesser occipital nerve (C2,3)
Greater auricular nerve (C2/3)
transverse cervical nerve (C2/3)
Supraclavicular nerves (C3/4)
What is the roots of the supraclavicular nerves?
C3-C4
What area does the supraclavicular nerve supply?
area adjacent to the clavicle
