Collective singulars (non-countable nouns; no plural): e.g. information, advice, interest (Zinsen), merchandise, traffic, equipment; to be used only with: much, a lot of, little, some.
Collective plurals (no singular): e.g. surroundings, clothes, arms, goods, savings, means
Singular constructions: the United States is, the news is; same: economics, politics, headquarters
Plural constructions: The police are looking for clues. People were standing in front of the building when the alarm went off.

Comparatives:
She is much happier. (no “more” in it; happier is already a comparative form.)
She feels much more comfortable with it these days. (comparative leaves adjective form unchanged).
Irregular Adjectives:
good, better, best; bad, worse, worst; far, farther, farthest (further, furthest)
fewer/less: fewer people (plural non-count nouns), fewer chances (plural count nouns), less trouble (singular non-count nouns)
Use of adverbs:
These aspects are closely related.
The UN should intervene militarily.
This could easily be done by them.
